Swindle's latest:

Check out David Swindle's column, Headline: Porn and Christianity, strange bedfellows, where he touches on such themes, mentioned on this blog as Mary Carey, Christian porn-star, and The Marriage-Bed, a site which lets us know, surprisingly, that married fundamentalist Protestants are permitted to do things in bed that are a lot kinkier than what we might otherwise have imagined (it's not all "doors-locked, lights-out, missionary position," as the Church Lady put it).

The last passage is priceless. Given Bush's statism, I think he might actually consider this proposal until his advisors let him know how Jim Dobson et al. would react to it:

So here's my plan: The Bush administration should recruit Carey and Fulkis to begin producing tax-payer funded, Christian pornography. It would be categorized as a faith-based initiative included in the administration's plans of promoting marriage. In 2002, Bush said, "Building and preserving families are not always possible -- I recognize that -- but they should always be our goal."

How do you build families? By having sex! How do you preserve families? By having great sex! The Bible says, "Be fruitful and multiply." Should the government, then, promote doing so? Absolutely!
