I'm a libertarian lawyer and college professor. I blog on religion, history, constitutional law, government policy, philosophy, sexuality, and the American Founding. Everything is fair game though. Over the years, I've been involved in numerous group blogs that come and go. This blog archives almost everything I write.

Fred Phelps Explains:
Why Billy Graham is the RIGHT kind of Christian.
I believe God sent Fred Phelps to this Earth to show people how NOT to be a Christian and this includes almost every word of THIS SERMON.
I believe you're not far from the mark, Jonathan. Fred Phelps most certainly is NOT representative of who Jesus Christ is or what He represents. Supposing what Phelps says has some truth to it, does anyone listen to the rantings of some kook spouting off hate speech? Fraid not. He has been confonted on numerous occasions (including by me), but it is little more than a waste of time. It is best to not judge a person's teaching (in this case, Jesus' or the Bible's) by its abusers. You must judge it by its original propagator--God, by means of the Bible. The Bible is a rebuke to Phelps, but he insists on reading it according to a preconceived context. I hope you don't follow this model. Start with Romans 1-4
